This classic tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to a discover the magical power of home, has been entertaining audiences for generations.

The show features many wonderful roles for singing actors, non-singing actors and featured dancers. Interested performers ages 7 to 18 are welcome to audition. If there is a need for financial, behavioral, medical, or any other assistance, please contact us at 

Auditions will be done in a 20 minute time blocks (which will be assigned to registered students based on age and/or availability. Once your group is assigned, there will be an email sent to you with your scheduled audition time) where individual evaluations will be made and then a quick group activity will wrap up the session. Actors will be given a short piece from the show to recite.  Singers will be tested for range and are asked to prepare a Wizard of Oz song that best showcases their voice. You can find the 30 second tracks of these songs on the Tams/Witmark website CLICK HERE on the right side of the webpage. Dancers will be given a short routine to learn and perform.

Callbacks may be required for certain roles, and will be scheduled by the director as necessary. All Connecticut students are welcome and everyone who auditions will be included in the show.

Please help us welcome our New Director and New Stage Manager! Here is a little info about them and why we are so excited to welcome them to our team. 
Director: Kyle Riedinger
Kyle comes to us from Southington, CT as a recent gratuate from Central Connecticut State University with a B.F.A. in Theater and Alot of community theater experience. With 5+ years of working with children of all ages at places such as the Southington YMCA, Kyle will make the perfect addition to our madbarn productions family.
Stage Manager: Cristal DePietro
Cristal has worked in social services for over 10 years. She currently works as a prevention coodinator, where she works with children of all ages to create positive messages about prevention and leadership. Cristal has been acting since she was 17 and has worked on many productions on stage and back stage, and is so excited to join the Madison Arts Barn family in this iconic production and we are excited to have her.
