The Cost of one week of camps is $295, but a $45 Early Bird discount will be applied at registration until Thursday, March 31st when the discount drops to $20 dollars until May 1st.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration prior to thirty days from the start of the program you will receive a cash refund minus a $25 administration fee. If you cancel your registration within thirty days of the start of the program, you will receive a credit for any event at The Barn minus a $50 administrative fee. If two weeks prior to the start date of a particular camp the minimum registration has not been met the camp will be cancelled and full refund issued.

Week One:

June 24 – June 28

                 Girlfriend’s Getaway -Extreme Makeover 2019

This camp is all about girl time. Each day will have a different theme, different activities, and different creations! In the morning campers will be sharing and learning beauty tips, sharing stories about summer fun while having a pedicure, or relaxing with spa techniques after hot yoga! They will have an hour for lunch to refuel and get ready to get their hands dirty while creating DIY Decor! Turning something simple into a masterpiece in an affordable way. Not only will these ladies have a full mind, body, and soul makeover, their rooms will be ready too!

Week Two:

July 8th – July 12th

Film Animation 2019

Don’t miss out on this VERY POPULAR experience!

Aspiring Graphic Artists, Animators, or Short Film creators will love this camp! Campers will begin with basics of hand drawn animations to produce short stories using traditional techniques and principles developed by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, the lead animators of Disney. They will continue their studies by exploring how to animate digitally, use stop motion animation, and be able to edit them all by  using Adobe Animate. Cameras and equipment will be available.

Mr. Gallo, our very own art teacher from Daniel Hand High school is ready to bring your characters and stories to life! 

Week Three:

July 15th – July 19th. 

Filmmaking 2019

Do you love to make short films or ever wondered how it’s done?

Come learn the movie making process by planning and shooting your own short films. Students will begin with the understanding of technical terms and how to use their equipment. Cameras and tripods will be available for everyone to use, but having a digital camera, video camera, Iphone or Ipad is encouraged for campers to learn how to use their own technology. They will create silent films with music and sound effects, commercials, and short dialogue sequences.

Taught by our very own art teacher Mr. Gallo from Daniel Hand High School. He will be guiding this summer’s campers through each step of storyboard building and the script writing process. Turning these works of art on paper into real live action!

Week Four: 

July 22nd – July 26th

Photography 2019 

Campers will explore the beautiful world through a lens. Learning how to use aperture, shutter speed, and iso to take visually compelling shots, and capture breathtaking moments. Cameras and tripods will be available for everyone to use, but having a digital camera, Iphone or Ipad encourages campers to learn how to use their own technology. They will also learn about the editing process and how to adjust their compositions, light, color, and focal point to connect to the viewer.

Mr. Gallo, our very own art teacher from Daniel Hand High School is eager to teach the essentials of photography! He will guide you through techniques of his own, as well as some of the famous photographers of the world.

Week Five:  

July 29th- August 2nd

Creative Cooking 2019 

No Oven? No problem!

Miss Danyell is calling all junior chefs and pastry chef wannabes. Campers will learn to make intricate snacks, meals, and desserts with no cooking necessary. She will guide you through kitchen safety, reading and understanding recipes, proper measuring, and tossing it all in a bowl for one tasty treat!

For everyone’s safety, please indicate on your registration form if you have any food allergies!

Week Six:

August 5th – August 9th

Creating Television 

Dreaming of a life in front of or behind the camera?

Jessica Spinelli, The Barn’s very own experienced producer, is spending a week teaching the ins and outs of television production. From brainstorming ideas, writing scripts, creating sets and costumes, to filming, recording sound, and putting it all together as a finished piece, students will enjoy the full TV show experience, ending with the final project being edited into a Variety Show and broadcasted on Local Cable TV Channel and Youtube.   

Week Seven:

August 12th – August 16th

Murder Mystery Theater 2019 

A faint scream fell over the room, everyone sat in silence. A murder had taken place and everyone is a suspect. We must race against the clock and discover the truth. Do you have a suspect in mind? The story will unfold and reveal all secrets at the live performance on Friday.

Although this is a relaxed atmosphere participating students will naturally improve in self confidence, and become more poised in their presentation skills. Most importantly, they will have a fantastic time and make lasting friendship and creative connections with like-minded peers!

This experience will be run by Danielle Boucher. The Barns Assistant Musical Director, Choreographer, and Improv Teacher. She is ready to take on this bone chilling story with you and bring it to life.

Week Eight:

August 19th – August 23rd

Art Exploration 2019 

Join us for a week of exploring the wonderful world of art! Campers will enjoy working with a number of mediums such as acrylics, pastels, collage, watercolor, sculpture and more! They will learn tips and tricks for creating intricate works of art. When the week comes to an end they will be able to show off their hard work to friends & family at our Art Show!

 This creative week will be taught by a CCSU student named Melanie Deniger who is studying to become an art teacher! She has experience teaching art at Vista Life Innovations at the Connect Through Art program, Saturday Art Workshop at CCSU, and assisting in classrooms throughout CT. Her passion and excitement about art is sure to bring a positive and creative experience to all who attend!
