8 Weeks of amazing camps for 5th through 12th graders!

The Cost of one week of camps is $275, but a $50 Early Bird discount will be applied at registration until Thursday, March 15th when the discount drops to $25 dollars until May 1st.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your registration prior to thirty days from the start of the program you will receive a cash refund minus a $25 administration fee. If you cancel your registration within thirty days of the start of the program, you will receive a credit for any event at The Barn minus a $50 administrative fee. If two weeks prior to the start date of a particular camp the minimum registration has not been met the camp will bbe cancelled and full refund issued.

Additional Options Available:

The Barn Youth Center has a cafe filled with Lunch items, snacks, drinks, and treats for sale. Campers can opt for a Lunch Plan that includes the options of Pizza, Chicken Nuggets, Corn Dogs, Hot Dog, Grilled Cheese, or PB&J Sandwich,with chips, and a bottled water or soda.  The Weekly Lunch Plan cost is $25 and the Daily Lunch Plan costs $5.

Our Camps:

Art Camp: Due to the extension of the school year, we are no longer able to have the Art Experience Camp… We will be having a 4 day Girlfriends Get-a-way Camp instead. More info below:

 

This four day camp is all about girl time. Come share and learn beauty tips for the body, soul and mind. Make fun crafts while making new friends. Campers will enjoy makeovers, yoga, and making cool keepsakes to treasure. Open to students entering 5th grade and up.

Aspiring Graphic Artists, Animators, or Short Film creators will love this camp! Learn how to bring characters and stories to life. Campers will begin using traditional animation techniques and principles developed by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, the lead animators of Disney. Campers will begin with the basics of hand drawn animations to produce short stories. They will continue their studies by exploring how to animate digitally using Adobe Animate. They will also explore stop motion animation and be able to edit them on their own phone or imovie. Cameras and equipment will be available. Taught by art teacher Mr. Gallo from Daniel Hand High school.

Do you love to make short films or have always wanted to learn how? Come learn the movie making process by planning and shooting your own short films. Students will begin with the understanding of technical terms and how to use their equipment. Having a digital camera, video camera, iphone or ipod is not necessary but encouraged for campers to learn how to use their own technology. Cameras and tripods will be available for everyone to use. Campers will create silent films with music and sound effects, commercials, and short dialogue sequences. They will also learn the storyboarding and script writing process. Taught by art teacher Mr. Gallo from Daniel Hand High School.

Campers will explore the beautiful world of photography. They will learn how to use their cameras to take visually compelling shots.Having a digital camera, iphone or ipod is not necessary but encouraged for campers to learn how to use their own technology. Cameras and tripods will be available for everyone to use. Campers will learn about a variety of famous photographers and how to use aperture, shutter speed, and iso to capture beautiful images. They will also learn about the editing process and how to adjust their compositions,light,color,focal point to connect to the viewer. Taught by art teacher Mr Gallo from Daniel Hand High School

Broadway comes to The Barn… A fun filled week with Jaye Santoro and choreographer Danyell Boucher. Each child will be able to express their acting skills and theatre interests in unique and creative ways. Campers will gain insight to what goes on behind the scenes as well as the stage. They will work on building their stage confidence while combining acting, singing and dancing. Campers will put on a performance for friends and family to showcase the new skills they gained at the end of the week.

Dreaming of a life in front of or behind the camera? Jessica Spinelli, The Barn’s very own experienced producer, is spending a week teaching the ins and outs of television production. From brainstorming ideas, writing scripts, creating sets and costumes, to filming, recording sound, and putting it all together as a finished piece, students will enjoy the full TV show experience, ending with the final project being edited into a Variety Show and broadcasted on Local Cable TV Channel and Youtube.

Push your acting skills to a whole new level with this unique opportunity to work with theater teacher Jaye Santoro and Stage stunt/fight choreographer Chris Pytlak. Campers will learn to fine tune their basic acting skills, learn new improv games, work on scripts and monologues and convincingly portray fight scenes, falls, sword fights, and more! Campers will also be given an opportunity to learn what goes on behind the scenes, such as costume design and tech. At the end of the week they will perform for friends and family.

Calling all dancers and aspiring dancers! Veteran Dance Teacher Danyell Boucher has an amazing week of dancing planned for campers of all levels of interest. Students will learn or sharpen their technique, jumps, turns, and tricks through ballet, Hip-Hop, & Jazz with a final recital at the end of the week for friends and family.
