What’s Going On Now at the Arts Barn

This has been a very busy and exciting summer so far for the Barn!! Here are some reminders on what is coming up. Details and registration information can be found on the Summer 2012 Program Tab above.  Please remember we have Full and Partial Scholarships still available and do accept payment plans. THIS SATURDAY – 7/21 – 6:30 – 10 PM – Open Mic Night - $5 Admission.  This is open to anyone entering 9th grade and up.

THIS SUNDAY – 7/22 – 4 – 6 PM – Auditions and informational meeting for our next Murder Mystery - This is open to anyone entering 5th grade and up.  This Mystery involves the Murder of the Captain of a Pirate Ship and the performance will be September 9th.

NEXT WEEK – 7/23 – 7/27 8:30-3:30 PM – Center Stage Theatre Camp - $225 for the week. This is open to anyone entering 5th grade and up. Director Alan Wagner will work on audition skills, monologue selection and development and song selection in additional to theatre games and improv.

Also next week we are in week 2 of 6 for our Cartooning/Anime (Wednesdays 4-6PM) and Graffiti (Thursdays 4-6PM) Workshops - If interested in joining we will prorate the fee. Email us if you are interested at madisonartsbarn@gmail.com.

UPCOMING: August 6th – August 10th – 8:30 – 12:00 Noon – Art Exploration with Greg Gallo - $175 for the week. August 13th – August 17th – 8:30 – 3:30 PM – The Famished Games - $250 for the week.

Looking for Musicians

Do you play an instrument and want to be up on stage?  Rock Band Live is a week-long workshop that will have you performing in a concert at the end of the week for friends and family!! You only need basic knowledge of your instrument and a desire to be a star to be a part of this experience.  This is open to students entering 5th grade to 9th grade. Rock Band Live starts July 9th and runs 3:30-6:30 every afternoon and ends on Friday July 13th with a concert at night on our stage.  Click on the summer 2012 program tab for more information.  Scholarships and financial assistance along with payment plans are available.  Any questions contact us at madisonartsbarn@gmail.com or call at 203-245-2689.

Summer Yoga Workshop just added

Mondays    3:30-5:30   5 WEEKS  7/16 , 7/23, 7/30, 8/13, 8/20

Cost: $75   Ages 12 – 17

Yoga is a gentle, non-competitive form of exercise that promotes strength and flexibility while teaching you how to relax, concentrate and quiet your mind. It works on the whole body and teaches you how to keep the mind and body fit for life. This class is designed to enhance flexibility, build strength, and improve concentration.  It is appropriate for all levels.  Yoga is also very beneficial for those who are involved in sports, dance or anyone interested in making lasting changes in their life.  Instructor: Karen Gomez, Yoga and Wellness Coach, Founder of We AreThe ONES Wellness and Coaching and Inspiring Wings Yoga for Teens.

Do you want to be a Rock Star? Do you want to learn how to create Anime or a Graffiti wall hanging? We just added amazing work shops where you can do these things and more.  We also added two additional amazing weeks of Art Exploration.

Summer Programs at The Madison Arts Barn

There is so much going on at the Madison Arts Barn this summer there is something for EVERYONE!!! We are having day camps for students entering 5th grade and up, workshops, lessons, tutoring and social events.  We have already listed several day camp options and more will be listed very soon. You can see the summer camp listing with their descriptions and registration information by clicking the summer 2012 tab above.  You do not want to miss The Famished Games based on the popular Hunger Games series.  Come explore all the districts of Panem.  Teenagers come learn survival skills with Erik Becker! Erik has taught these skills at Bushy Hill for years and now is offering this very popular program at the Arts Barn.  Coming soon we will be listing our art camps and lessons which will include many different mediums; rock band camp; skateboarding lessons; small group affordable tutoring in Math and Language Arts; social events and so much more… Bookmark this website and check back often for new listing.  You can also like us on Facebook to hear about what is going on.
